im just too lazy to blog during weekdays. i reach home everyday at around 8+ and all i want to do is to lie on my bed n sleep. hahaha
actually, this week has been a busy week for me. i ot almost everyday.
anyway, i've slowly starting to pick up the new stuff i learn at work. im lucky that everything has been going rather smoothly, at least no major hic-cups so far though. haha.
colleagues are quite nice n all. we even have extended lunch these few days! manager had lunch appointment and so i went lunch with other team colleagues. so coincidentally one of them drove to work, so the other 4 of us took a ride to parkway! haah.
and yesterday, manager is kind enough to give me a treat to sakae sushi! we took mrt to bugis for lunch. haha.
they will venture out for lunch whenever workload is not heavy coz theres nothing much to eat there. lol.
ok, back to why i have been busy lately.
apart of the ot, i've been meeting the usual for the past few days after work. to accompany lj to see car, to go vivo to redeem my adidas voucher.
was supposed to watch narnia with roy n abby at vivo. we bought the tix already then i decided not to watch coz i am damn tired. haha. so in the end, we sell back to gv. all of us were quite surprised that they are willing to take back the ticket and refund us the money. hahahah.
quite lucky there, but we werent that lucky when we went to levis trying to redeem the $150 voucher dear gave me as birthday present last year.
i've all along thought it was valid for a year until dear told me to double check again when we are there. then i realised its actually valid for 6 months and it has already expired afew days ago!
nevertheless, i ask the staff if i can still redeem, and also told them that i just came back from overseas and din realised it has already expired.
the guailan staff told me that no, we dun renew voucher.
actually its the staff's attitude and face that irritates me. but i was so tired that day that i dun even bother to argue with him. lol.
anyway, i called levis at tamp mall the next day and told them that i din realised it has expired as i just came back from overseas and would still like to redeem this voucher though it has expired for afew days. if its possible, i'll be down tml to redeem.
anyway the staff said they cant, but i told her to let me speak to the supervisor or manager so that they can better understand my plight.
so the kind supervisor said she will call the office and ask. i told her to please try to persuade them as its a $150 voucher!!
luckily, they agreed to let me redeem the next day. hahaahaha!
and so, i went down yesterday and got myself a new pair of jeans!
on a sadder note, just the start of this week, i saw a notice on the lift's wall stating there have been several suspicious characters loitering around my block and therefore everyone should do a part to keep a vigilant watch and call the police immediately and be more careful.
never did i expect that afew days later, just on thursday night when dear n me return home, my mom came into my room n ask me to be more careful, and not to share lift with anyone when i go home at night as there has been a robbery last night at 9+pm and the woman was sent to hospital.
there wasnt much details available until yesterday morning when there is another notice at the noticeboard this time, saying a malay lady with her less than 1 year old girl took a cab back and alight at the roadside next to my block, and a malay man in his 20s dashed across the road and snatch her bag.
in the struggle, the child was pushed down the drain n the woman got slightly injured or something, and the ambulance came n took them to the hospital. the woman was in absolute shock, so shock that she dun even remember her own house number. -.-
anyway, the passerbys gave chase but they din managed to catch him as he run too fast.
so lj were saying, must be several ahpeks or uncles try to run thats why cannot chase. lol.
i was quite surprised that a robbery took place at 9pm! moreover my block is facing the road and all, and 9pm is still quite early n not nearly as quiet as midnight or something. of coz there is never a good time, or early or late time for a robbery to take place. but 9pm is really consider early.
somehow my block became one of the unsafe area. just start of this year, or maybe the end of last year, there was a case of flasher too.
or maybe its the whole stretch, the block 217 n some other blocks have also robbery cases, fighting cases blah blah. its just afew bus stops away from my place.
so i better be more careful when i come home at night.

i wasnt assigned to this desk initially as jayce is not yet moving to another team when i report for work. but we changed desk on tuesday as she is going on leave and when she is back next week, she will be reporting to the other team.

that was hell of a good match. of coz man u should have wrapped up the game during the fh, but never mind, we still got the cup in the end.
dear and me was jumping up and down, high five-ing each other and cheering and running around my room when vds saved anelka's pk.
its worth sacrificing my sleep. lol.
ok, back to my new job. been really learning alot of hr stuff during the first week of my new job. the first 2 days are pretty relaxing, coz the one who is supposed to teach me (her name is jayce) was on mc. not that i din learn anything, the manager taught me some stuff but she herself is also busy with her own work so there are some time that i got nothing to do.
the last 2 days of the week was quite hectic. as jayce will be transferring to another hr team on 1st june, and she will be on leave this week from wednesday to friday, she has got only 4 days left to teach me everything.
as i am really really new to hr, im quite slow to pick up the process. i think they regretted employing me. haha
but luckily, the people there are nice and friendly. my manager is quite thoughtful as well, she asked the other colleagues of the other hr team to lunch with me when she got lunch appointment. and also, other colleagues came to my desk n introduced themselves and asked if i had lunch n all.
the only thing is that, though the office is big, but there are very few staff. so it is really very quiet there. really very quiet, except for the typing sound or phone call sound. i wasnt very used to this of coz.. when i was still at scb, the office is big, plus crowded, so its quite noisy. or maybe noisy is not the right word.. its full of conversations and communications.
im not saying no one is communicating with each other at symantec, but its just that they speak very softly to each other. not that everyone is softspoken or anything, but its just very quiet. lol.
anyway, i just hope that i can cope with the workload and new things that i will be learning everyday. plus i hope i can really remember the things that jayce taught me. lol. she commented that i am very blur. thats very true though.. i asked her if she regretted employing me, she said abit. lol. im not sure if she's joking or what, but i think she probably mean it lah. i can feel her frustrations sometimes.
oh, one good thing is, they got msn over there and they dun block websites. hahaha! but i got no time surf net or msn lah.. i dun even have time to email with the buzzers. lol.

time flies and without realising, i have been there for the past 2 and a half years, since october 2005.
had some difficulty in adapting at first, since i am only a part-time, i basically only spend 4 hours in office and hardly have any other contact with other colleagues. it might be better if i am proactive.. but i am not.
so, i took quite sometime to get acquainted with my colleagues. but as we get along, i realised they are a bunch of friendly and easy going people. unlike many other companies, there is almost zero office politics.. im quite lucky to be there.
many of them left and came, then left and came some new staff again in that 2 years odd. and this time, its my turn to leave.
i leave with many many memories, and with many many regrets. i can visit them anytime i like, since it is so near to my place.. but the people there might not be the same anymore.
i nearly cried when my asst manager shook my hand, and asked me to take care, all the best, hoped i get along well in my new company and said i have been a very good friend, good temp staff, and good schoolmate, etc..
i also nearly cried and was very touched when ning n valerie gave me the bouquet of bears and card. the girls crowd around me, taking some last photos while im still there, and also said the goodbyes, take cares n all..
i will surely miss them.. im still waiting for ning n valerie to be online n send me the photos we took.
tml, i will be starting a new chapter of my life..
i hope the colleagues there will be as nice, and hopefully i can get along with them..
i probably have to take the initiative to say hello.. im not sure if i can do that.. haha

im not watching dramas though.. but i've been watching tv, mainly ch55, 56, and animal planet! i just love them! my favourite documentary is probably when they are showing the lions, leonards n such in africa. if theres a chance, i definitely want to go to africa for some first hand experience!
anyway, something for a change. i finally found a job!!!!!!!!! hahaha. but of coz, i havent sign the letter yet, so, lets not start counting the chickens n eggs. hahaha.
well, i got another offer from intel, at cuppage. they only offer me 2k though, and want me to start next week. i commented its abit too low, and its located at orchard, where the transportation is horrible and food is so so expensive. so in the end, they offered 2.1k, without any probation period. but i dun think intel can wait, as they need someone urgently.. so i got to reject the job, since i got another better offer. the intel job scope seem rather relax, but i really cant start next week. have spoken to my manager, and she said at least give her a 2 weeks notice so that she can find a replacement.. preferabbly 1 month, since 2 of my colleagues are taking a 1 month no-pay leave.. but she figured that its not fair to me, so she said just a 2 weeks notice is sufficient.
well, i realised that anyway. a 2 weeks notice is fair.. afterall, they treated me well there and i really enjoy working there too. i wont want to make things difficult.
anyway, i got another offer of 2.2k from symantec, hr asst and its located at singpost! well well, that is much much nearer and convenient. dad's working at eunos and if he wakes up early, he can give me a lift to work! not to mention, he can fetch me home too! but i think its probably faster that i go home myself. lol. the jam there is horrible.
this particular job scope is rather tough, but the tougher it is, the more i can learn. i got to start somewhere, since im very very new and fresh in hr. and since its a 6 months contract, they dun dare to commit or promise me of any conversion to permanent due to the budget n all. but they will convert if they are allowed to. so i just have to learn as much and quickly as i can in the 6 months, no matter i will be converted a not.
this job wont be easy, i just hope i can endure it.. afterall, its completely new to me. i probably wont feel so worried if i am back in banking.. and my direct superior is quite a demanding boss, she told me herself since she is the one who interviewed me. i just hope i can satisfy her. hahaha.
they were very quick to confirm. i have only went to the interview yesterday 2pm, and they offered me at 530pm. very efficient i would say. haha.
it is only in the morning when the consultant called me and warn me that one of the interviewers is very strict and like to ask alot of questions. so we discussed the likely questions and the answers.
first interviewer is from the hr recruitment team. that is quite easy to pass. the second interviewer is from the dept which i will join. she is the difficult one. they dunwan too ambitious people, nor people who showed no interest. anyway, my interview with her lasts for 30 minutes! and lastly, she direct me to her boss, which is the manager of the dept. that interview is only 5-10 minutes where she just ask some questions and all.
i stayed for more than an hour there. lol.
anyway, i called the consultant after that. he sounded very surprised that there are actually 3 rounds of interviews. he mentioned that im probably the only one who got past the 2nd interview n get to meet the manager. lol. he said i stand a good chance.
so i thought they probably will make up their mind next week or something. never did i expect that they will confirm so fast! haha. but i really am glad that my job searching is finally over.
but still, lets not start partying until i sign the papers. lol.
well, im really tired of going to interviews, searching job portals everyday, reading classifieds every week.
i know i may not seem to be serious in job searching, but i really did try very hard. luckily my parents are quite understanding, though mom is worried why i still have not found a job after so long. dear, sometimes he keep nagging about how unserious i am in job searching, blah blah. but i am really serious, which some people out there really know that.
let me explain. it is not that i am choosy, which quite a number of people thought that. i admit, i might be a little choosy in where to send my resume to. but nevertheless, i still got to send many many many resumes. it is not my fault that i got no calls or interviews scheduled. theres nothing i can do right.
of coz there are several people who mentioned that maybe i can lower my expectations, or start from elsewhere, like admin or that sort of things. well, lets see if i can explain it better..
if i lower my expectations, i will be spoiling the market. and also, if i start from low elsewhere, i dun think i need a degree to do that. in both cases, it will be a waste of my degree.
i've asked several people, they commented that my expecations are reasonable, and encouraged me to keep trying, dun get frustrated or even give up. i really appreciate that. like what monk said, just few days ago i was complaining to him about how frustrated i am and how other people pretend to know really well n blah blah. and now, i got a good job offer!
haha.
time to go back to loyang to baibai and thank dua pek gong for his po pi! hehehe. think i will buy some fruits there. :D
oh, i almost forgot.
i just perm my hair again!!!!
well, it started from ear level and smaller curls this time. (no, not to the extent of maggie curls!) its abit pong and i think i look even more like an auntie. dear commented that i look like a poodle. -.-
so now i grab abit of my hair n pin it behind. hehe. not so pong and younger already! and im sure this time, it will look much better when it loosen up.
sorry no pics for now, coz i really dun feel like taking any pics with my pong hair. haha.
it doesnt look very obvious i think.. some of my colleagues realised i perm my hair as my hair looks more in volume now, but some friends din realised until i pointed out to them. lol.
i was seriously thinking of straightening, but as my hair has got natural wave, so after it grows longer it goes back curling at the wrong places and its not balanced! it just goes pong pong on the right n straight on the left. :\
so i just decide to perm again.
i was referring back to the old pictures where i still have straight hair.. kind of miss it.. hahaha. maybe next time.
and dear owe me a shopping trip!!!!!!!!! hehehehe
