im not watching dramas though.. but i've been watching tv, mainly ch55, 56, and animal planet! i just love them! my favourite documentary is probably when they are showing the lions, leonards n such in africa. if theres a chance, i definitely want to go to africa for some first hand experience!
anyway, something for a change. i finally found a job!!!!!!!!! hahaha. but of coz, i havent sign the letter yet, so, lets not start counting the chickens n eggs. hahaha.
well, i got another offer from intel, at cuppage. they only offer me 2k though, and want me to start next week. i commented its abit too low, and its located at orchard, where the transportation is horrible and food is so so expensive. so in the end, they offered 2.1k, without any probation period. but i dun think intel can wait, as they need someone urgently.. so i got to reject the job, since i got another better offer. the intel job scope seem rather relax, but i really cant start next week. have spoken to my manager, and she said at least give her a 2 weeks notice so that she can find a replacement.. preferabbly 1 month, since 2 of my colleagues are taking a 1 month no-pay leave.. but she figured that its not fair to me, so she said just a 2 weeks notice is sufficient.
well, i realised that anyway. a 2 weeks notice is fair.. afterall, they treated me well there and i really enjoy working there too. i wont want to make things difficult.
anyway, i got another offer of 2.2k from symantec, hr asst and its located at singpost! well well, that is much much nearer and convenient. dad's working at eunos and if he wakes up early, he can give me a lift to work! not to mention, he can fetch me home too! but i think its probably faster that i go home myself. lol. the jam there is horrible.
this particular job scope is rather tough, but the tougher it is, the more i can learn. i got to start somewhere, since im very very new and fresh in hr. and since its a 6 months contract, they dun dare to commit or promise me of any conversion to permanent due to the budget n all. but they will convert if they are allowed to. so i just have to learn as much and quickly as i can in the 6 months, no matter i will be converted a not.
this job wont be easy, i just hope i can endure it.. afterall, its completely new to me. i probably wont feel so worried if i am back in banking.. and my direct superior is quite a demanding boss, she told me herself since she is the one who interviewed me. i just hope i can satisfy her. hahaha.
they were very quick to confirm. i have only went to the interview yesterday 2pm, and they offered me at 530pm. very efficient i would say. haha.
it is only in the morning when the consultant called me and warn me that one of the interviewers is very strict and like to ask alot of questions. so we discussed the likely questions and the answers.
first interviewer is from the hr recruitment team. that is quite easy to pass. the second interviewer is from the dept which i will join. she is the difficult one. they dunwan too ambitious people, nor people who showed no interest. anyway, my interview with her lasts for 30 minutes! and lastly, she direct me to her boss, which is the manager of the dept. that interview is only 5-10 minutes where she just ask some questions and all.
i stayed for more than an hour there. lol.
anyway, i called the consultant after that. he sounded very surprised that there are actually 3 rounds of interviews. he mentioned that im probably the only one who got past the 2nd interview n get to meet the manager. lol. he said i stand a good chance.
so i thought they probably will make up their mind next week or something. never did i expect that they will confirm so fast! haha. but i really am glad that my job searching is finally over.
but still, lets not start partying until i sign the papers. lol.
well, im really tired of going to interviews, searching job portals everyday, reading classifieds every week.
i know i may not seem to be serious in job searching, but i really did try very hard. luckily my parents are quite understanding, though mom is worried why i still have not found a job after so long. dear, sometimes he keep nagging about how unserious i am in job searching, blah blah. but i am really serious, which some people out there really know that.
let me explain. it is not that i am choosy, which quite a number of people thought that. i admit, i might be a little choosy in where to send my resume to. but nevertheless, i still got to send many many many resumes. it is not my fault that i got no calls or interviews scheduled. theres nothing i can do right.
of coz there are several people who mentioned that maybe i can lower my expectations, or start from elsewhere, like admin or that sort of things. well, lets see if i can explain it better..
if i lower my expectations, i will be spoiling the market. and also, if i start from low elsewhere, i dun think i need a degree to do that. in both cases, it will be a waste of my degree.
i've asked several people, they commented that my expecations are reasonable, and encouraged me to keep trying, dun get frustrated or even give up. i really appreciate that. like what monk said, just few days ago i was complaining to him about how frustrated i am and how other people pretend to know really well n blah blah. and now, i got a good job offer!
haha.
time to go back to loyang to baibai and thank dua pek gong for his po pi! hehehe. think i will buy some fruits there. :D
oh, i almost forgot.
i just perm my hair again!!!!
well, it started from ear level and smaller curls this time. (no, not to the extent of maggie curls!) its abit pong and i think i look even more like an auntie. dear commented that i look like a poodle. -.-
so now i grab abit of my hair n pin it behind. hehe. not so pong and younger already! and im sure this time, it will look much better when it loosen up.
sorry no pics for now, coz i really dun feel like taking any pics with my pong hair. haha.
it doesnt look very obvious i think.. some of my colleagues realised i perm my hair as my hair looks more in volume now, but some friends din realised until i pointed out to them. lol.
i was seriously thinking of straightening, but as my hair has got natural wave, so after it grows longer it goes back curling at the wrong places and its not balanced! it just goes pong pong on the right n straight on the left. :\
so i just decide to perm again.
i was referring back to the old pictures where i still have straight hair.. kind of miss it.. hahaha. maybe next time.
and dear owe me a shopping trip!!!!!!!!! hehehehe
